The drive

South from the airport, then east up Little Cottonwood Canyon. Short in miles, slow in minutes — the canyon road climbs hard.

In winter

Little Cottonwood closes. UDOT runs avalanche control after heavy snow and the canyon can shut with no notice, sometimes for hours. There is also an interlodge protocol that keeps people indoors at the resort. We watch the UDOT feed and will hold, reroute, or rebook you rather than park you at a closed gate.

What people ask

What happens if the canyon is closed?
We track UDOT closures and contact you before we set off. You are not charged for a delay caused by a canyon closure, and we will move the pick-up rather than leave you waiting at the airport.
Do you carry chains?
Yes. Little Cottonwood enforces traction requirements in winter and our vehicles meet them.
